Talkative cat breeds

Some breeds communicate a lot with people: they meow often, chirp and seem to “chat”. Many are related to the Siamese. The list includes the Siamese, Balinese, Oriental Shorthair, Tonkinese, Burmese and Korat.

How the breeds were chosen

We included breeds that sources describe as talkative or very vocal. Their voices differ: the Siamese has a loud voice, while the Burmese and the Tonkinese have softer voices. The description applies to the breed in general. Every cat has its own character, and upbringing and socialisation matter just as much.
