Active and playful cat breeds

These breeds are full of energy, curious and always on the move: they jump, climb and ask to play. The list includes the Abyssinian, Bengal, Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, Ocicat and Savannah, among others.

How the breeds were chosen

We included breeds that sources describe as very active (activity level “very high” in the breed profile). They need daily play, high places to climb and, often, a second cat. The description applies to the breed in general. Every cat has its own character, and upbringing and socialisation matter just as much.
