Mountain animals of Romania

Romania’s mountains support a wide variety of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians adapted to mountain conditions. Familiar examples include the brown bear, grey wolf, lynx, chamois and red deer. These animals have different roles in the ecosystems of the Carpathians.
