Sighthound breeds

Sighthounds have a slender body, a deep chest and long legs. They hunt by sight and run very fast over short distances. This list has the Greyhound, Whippet, Afghan Hound, Borzoi, Saluki and Irish Wolfhound and other sighthounds.

How the breeds were chosen

The list includes breeds from FCI Group 10 (sighthounds) and the American Staghound, an American sighthound not recognised by the FCI. Sighthounds have a strong instinct to chase, so they should only be let off the lead in fenced areas.
