AntelopeBovidae (antelope groups)
Horned animals
Horns and antlers can help animals defend themselves, compete for mates or recognise one another. Their structures differ: antlers are usually shed and regrown, while many true horns remain through life.
Which animals have horns or antlers?
Examples include deer, red deer, moose, reindeer, goats, chamois, rhinoceroses, buffalo, bison, mouflon, cattle, sheep and antelopes. Rhinoceros horns also differ in structure from the horns of cattle and antelopes.
