Forest animals

Forests provide shelter, food and breeding places for many wild animals. Some live on the ground, others use trees, and many rely on dense vegetation for protection or hunting.

Which animals live in forests?

Examples include bears, wolves, red foxes, deer, lynxes, wild boar, hedgehogs, squirrels, badgers, martens, woodpeckers and owls. Forests are important wildlife habitats in Romania, elsewhere in Europe and around the world.
